One Killed, Five Injured in Chiradzulu Road Accident

Police in Chiradzulu have confirmed the death of an unidentified man following a road accident that occurred on the night of Saturday, 17 May 2025.
Five others sustained various degrees of injuries in the collision involving a Toyota Hilux pickup and a Nissan Vanette minibus.
Chiradzulu Police Public Relations Officer, Cosmas Kagulo, said the accident happened at Gogo Kalonga area along the John Chilembwe Highway.
According to Kagulo, the driver of the pickup, Samson Mkango, 36, from Golosi Village, Traditional Authority Mpama in Chiradzulu, was driving from Namadzi when he attempted to overtake a truck and collided with the oncoming minibus driven by Peter Makanjila, 30, from Makanjira Village, Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba.
One passenger from the minibus sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Zomba Central Hospital.
