Hospital Worker Arrested for Alleged Theft of Medicines in Dowa

Police in Dowa District have arrested 33-year-old Isoken Bondo on suspicion of stealing medicines from Dowa District Hospital, where he is employed.
According to Dowa Police Spokesperson Alice Sitima, the incident occurred while Bondo and his colleague, Gloria Mwanyari, were on duty in the male ward during a night shift.
Mwanyari reported that she was surprised to find Bondo had locked himself inside a storeroom where medicines are kept. Upon entering, she allegedly found him packing the medicines into his bag.
She immediately informed hospital authorities, who then contacted the police. Bondo was arrested on the spot.
The suspect hails from Tiimbenawo Village, Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikwawa District. He is expected to appear in court soon to face charges related to the alleged theft.
