Legal Experts Claims for Balance of Power in Malawi’s Constitution

One of the legal experts Professor Clement Ng’ong’ola has said that Malawi’s Constitution gives too much power to the president.
Speaking during an event which was organized to commemorate the marking of 30 years since Malawi as a nation adopted its current constitution in 1994 the professor pointed out that the constitution has been changed many times and sometimes without following the right procedures.
He added that some parts of the law are not being followed properly especially when compared to internation standards.
The Registrar of the judiciary, Razin Mzikamanda and president of the Malawi Law Society also added their remarks during the event, saying that event was meant to look at how the countries laws are working and share ideas on how make them better
