Two religious sisters from Brazil have captured global attention after an unplanned musical performance during a Catholic television program. Sisters Marizele Cassiano and Marisa de Paula, members of the Copiosa Redenção congregation, appeared on the show “Família de Amor” when their discussion about vocational retreats turned into an impromptu performance featuring beatboxing, singing and dancing.
The segment, broadcast by Pai Eterno Catholic channel, showed the nuns effortlessly switching from spiritual conversation to rhythmic entertainment, with the show’s host eventually joining in the dancing.
Sister Marizele, who provided the beatboxing, described the moment as completely spontaneous. “With Sister Marisa, any musical beat makes her dance,” she explained in an interview. “For us it was natural, but we never expected it to spread so far beyond Brazil.”
Beyond their viral fame, the sisters work extensively with youth struggling with addiction, using music as part of their ministry. “These artistic expressions become tools through which God reaches people’s hearts,” Sister Marizele noted, emphasizing how effective this approach has been in their outreach.
The video’s popularity has significantly increased Sister Marizele’s social media following, though Sister Marisa maintains no online presence. Both nuns remain committed to their primary work of organizing retreats and promoting religious vocations across Brazil.
