As Malawians are still facing sugar shortage, government officials are now arguing on the strategy which can be used in to fix the problem.
The minister of Trade, Vitumbiko Mumba suggests that sugar should be sold by people who have license only. He said this will stop vendors from hiding sugar and selling it at high prices.

He believed that the focus should be on how sugar companies supply the product and how licenses are being given.
At the same time, John Kapito Executive Director for The Consumer Association of Malawi (CAMA), says he suspects that some people in positions maybe behind this sugar problem.
While the leaders argue, many Malawians are still struggling to buy sugar as prices continue to rise up to MK6000 per packet.
