Companies Donates K22 Million Support Africa Day Celebration

Four companies have sponsored the Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a total amount K22 million to help in preparations for the African Day which is scheduled to take place on 31 May 2025 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The companies are Standard Bank of Malawi, National Bank, NBS and Chibuku Products Limited. Standard bank has donated the highest amount of K11 million followed by others.
George Nyirenda from National Bank said they are happy to support the event because they work with people from different African countries.
Speaking during the handover ceremony the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mwawayiwawo Polepole, thanked the companies for showing the African spirit of helping.
He also added that the event will include traditional dances, music, sports and other African traditional performances.
Mozambique High Commissioner, Alexandere Manjata, who represented the African Union said the event shows Africa unity and asked all Africans to join the cerebration.
