National Bank, Malawi Airlines Support Welcome to Maula Prison Movie Premier in South Africa

National Bank of Malawi has donated K5.9 million to support the team behind the Welcome  to Maula Prison as they travel to south Africa to showcase the movie, while Malawi Airlines  has contributed by offering six flight tickets for the filmmakers.

The team from 4Kaya Filmz, which was responsible for shooting the movie, has departed this morning through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe and will be screening the film in Johannesburg and Cape Town this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Speaking before the departure, 4Kaya Filmz Spokesperson Desire Namachotsa, expressed  her excitement about the trip, saying they are very happy to represent Malawi film industry at the international level.

Akosa Hilwa , Senior Official at National Bank, said the bank took this as an opportunity to travel together with 4Kaya team in order to meet and interact with Malawian customers based in South Africa.

Hilwa also added that the donation is a reflection of the bank’s commitment to support creative industry and promote Malawian culture.

Previously, the movie was successfully premiered in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre, where it received a huge support from the audience.
