Villagers Kill a Man Over Theft Allegations in Ntchisi

A man whose identity is still anonymous, was killed by a group of angry villagers yesterday on 15 June, in Mwalala Village under Traditional Authority Kalumo in Ntchisi District.
According to Ntchisi Police spokesperson Salomy Zgambo, the man was suspected of attempting to break into a certain house to steal property. Villagers caught the suspect and started throwing stones on him and also set him on fire, leading to his death.
Hospital results confirmed that the man died due to heavy bleeding and severe burns.
Meanwhile Zgambo has urged community members to stop taking laws into their own hands but instead report suspected criminals to authorities.
