Traditional Authority (TA) Ngabu has welcomed the donation of borehole repair parts, saying the support will greatly ease the struggle of accessing clean and safe water in his area.
This development follows a donation made by the Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Mkombezi, Abida Mia, who handed over spare parts worth K2.5 million to the local community.
Traditional Ngabu said many villages have been using unsafe water due to broken boreholes, which exposed them to waterborne diseases.
Mia, who is also the Minister of Water and Sanitation, said repairing the damaged boreholes will help to provide reliable and safe water for many families.
The Minister also added that she is committed to improving key services in the area, including resuming construction of water related projects that were left unfinished.
She emphasized that clean water is a basic need that every community deserves.
