A 25-year-old man from Kanyama Compound in Lusaka, Zambia, has died during a spiritual healing session, prompting police to launch a manhunt for the pastor involved.

Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the deceased, Oscar Mwanza, had been suffering from swollen legs for two weeks. In an effort to seek relief, his father, Elias Mwanza, invited a pastor from the Zion Church named Trust Moyo to conduct a prayer and healing session at their home.

During the session, Pastor Moyo allegedly instructed the family to administer a mixture of eggs and Coca-Cola to Oscar. He then reportedly heated a stone and used it to apply pressure to the victim’s legs as part of a spiritual ritual.

Tragically, Oscar Mwanza died on the spot despite attempts to revive him.

Following the incident, Pastor Moyo fled the scene and is currently at large. Police have since launched a manhunt for his arrest.

Hamoonga has warned the public against engaging in unverified spiritual healing practices that endanger lives. He also appealed for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the fleeing pastor.
