Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Central Region Vice President, Alfred Gangata, has announced plans to lead nationwide demonstrations this coming Friday, in protest against what he described as the ongoing injustices and human rights abuses happening in the country.

Speaking during a political rally held yesterday at Mkanda Primary School ground in Mchinji, Gangata said the current wave of violence, intimidation, and suppression of citizens’ rights is unacceptable in a democratic Malawi.

“This country belongs to all Malawians, and no one should suffer at the hands of those in power for exercising their constitutional rights,” Gangata said.

He emphasized that the demonstrations will serve as a call for justice, peace, and respect for democratic values, urging all citizens to join and make their voices heard.

The rally drew a sizeable crowd, as the DPP continues to mobilize supporters ahead of the planned protests.
