25-Year-Old Nabbed for Beating Cousin to Death in Ntchisi

Police in Ntchisi have arrested a 25-year-old man, Mapemphero Phiri, for allegedly beating his cousin to death.
According to Ntchisi police publicist Inspector Salomy Zgambo, the incident occurred on 29th June 2025 at Chipokosa village under Traditional Authority Kalumo.
Zgambo said the motives behind the brutal crime are still unclear, and the community was left reeling in horror.
As the news spread, villagers gathered at the scene, whispering among themselves and trying to make sense of the senseless act. The police have already apprehended Mapemphero, and the investigations are underway.
Jackson’s body has been taken to Ntchisi District Hospital for a postmortem examination, a necessary step to determine the cause of death.
