Police Investigate After Woman Found Dead in Chirimba River

Police in Blantyre have launched an investigation after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered early Monday morning along the banks of a river near Dovic Hotel in Chirimba.

According to Blantyre Police spokesperson Peter Mchiza, the woman’s identity and whereabouts prior to her death remain unknown. Preliminary reports suggest foul play, as the woman was found with visible head injuries, indicating she may have been killed and her body dumped at the scene.

“The body has since been taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital mortuary as investigations are underway to establish the cause of death and identify the deceased,” said Mchiza.

The discovery has left residents of Chirimba in shock, with many expressing fear and concern over the violent nature of the incident.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information about the woman or the circumstances surrounding her death to come forward.
