‘Don’t lose hope APM will rescue you’-Mpinganjira urges DPP supporters in Machinjiri

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Blantyre City Centre Chipiliro Mpinganjira has urged the people of Machinjiri to keep their faith, saying former President Peter Mutharika once voted into power on Septermber16, 2025 will rescue them.

Mpingangira who will now be contesting in the newly demarcated Nkolokoti-Makhetha Constituency which covers part of Ndirande and Machinjiri, said this as he was meeting people from different areas in the constituency.

In his speech Mpinganjira said he is aware of the challenges that the people of Machinjiri and across the country are passing through but soon things will change for the better.

“I know most of you here are sleeping on an empty stomach because you can’t afford to buy a bag of maize but September it’s not far, let’s keep our faith. Once Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is elected as President and I being elected as MP for this area just know that zathu zayela,” said Mpinganjira while attracting ululations from the crowd.

Turning to the area Mpinganjira promised to drill boreholes, construct a tarmac road and also provide soft loans to women and youths doing small scale businesses.

“Once am elected I will make sure that people here have clean and safe water whereby I will drill boreholes around the constituency. Apart from that I will make sure all roads around the constituency are improved. This will make the prices of goods being sold around this place are sold at a reduced price,” said Mpinganjira.

Mpinganjira also promised to train women and youths in the area in tailoring so that they can be safe reliant.

Chair for Tigwilanemanja Area hailed Mpinganjira for the visiting the area despite the cold weather.

Mpinganjira will face his fellow MP John Bande who will be contesting on an Independent ticket after dumping the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
