Chimwala Invades Mount Carmel CCAP Ground in style, join forces with PDP

Independent Shadow Member of Parliament for South Lunzu Constituency Alex Achalume Chimwala has formed an electoral Alliance with the Peoples Development Party (PDP) of Kondwani Nankhumwa ahead of the September 16, 2025 polls.
In the alliance PDP will not field a candidate in the constituency and instead the party will support Chimwala and Marko Chiusi of PDP will stand as Councillor for South Lunzu Ward.
This was revealed on Saturday during a joint rally organized by Chimwala and Shadow Councillor Chiusi held at Mount Carmel CCAP Ground in Area 1, Machinjiri.
” I can confirm that we are in electoral alliance with PDP. This alliance has come because I and PDP Councillor Chiusi who is also Organizing Secretary for the party have similar vision for Machinjiri. I want Machinjiri to have better roads, clean water, enough security, main market and this is also the case with Chiusi hence the Alliance,” said Chimwala.
“I am urging you people of Machinjiri not to be swayed by handouts as it was the case during primaries but choose a candidates who loves Machinjiri, someone who is from Machinjiri and not someone who is here for short while and once is elected will vacate the rented house and move to Lilongwe,” added Chimwala.
While confirming of the Alliance, Councillor Chiusi urged the people of Machinjiri to vote for Chimwala as MP for the Constituency if they want to enjoy meaningful development.
“On the MP post vote for Chimwala and on the councillorship for me. Once you do so you will see how Machinjiri will be developed within a short period,” said Chiusi.
Turning to the the area, Chimwala promised to build a Junior primary school, tarmac road and drill boreholes around South Lunzu.
He also promised to continue with a mobile technical college where he is teaching women and the youths how to make soap and other basic materials for free.
