Weekly Killings Continue in Area 25 as Man Stabbed Near Nsungwi Market

A man identified as Peter Chalusa was reportedly stabbed to death near Kalambo School in Lilongwe’s Area 25 last night.
According to family members we spoke to this morning, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. as Chalusa was leaving Nsungwi Market. The attackers are believed to have ambushed him along his route home.
Kanengo Police spokesperson Gresham Ngwira confirmed the incident and said the suspect is still at large.
Residents of Area 25 say violent attacks by night-time bandits have become alarmingly frequent, with at least one person reportedly killed each week.
