Police in Ntcheu have arrested Yasin Samson (41) and Albert Jezelo (29) on suspicion of being behind a series of thefts that have occurred across the district since April this year.

According to Ntcheu Police spokesperson Jacob Khembo, investigations suggest that the two have been targeting shops, breaking in and stealing various items, including roofing sheets (malata) and other goods.

“They have admitted to committing these crimes and are expected to appear before court today to answer charges related to the thefts,” said Khembo.

Police have since appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals, especially those whose movements or occupations are unclear.

Yasin Samson hails from Nyenje Village, Traditional Authority Kawinga in Machinga, while Albert Jezelo comes from Ben Tchauya Village, Traditional Authority Kwataine in Ntcheu.
