Renowned Malawian filmmaker Yusuf Kachingwe, popularly known as Genuine Kado, has announced his upcoming film project titled “Cholinga Cha Mneneri Wonyenga” (The Mission of the False Prophet), with a production budget of K35 million.

Speaking to local media, Kado revealed that the funding for the movie came from several unnamed supporters who believed in the vision of the project. The production is scheduled to begin in October 2025, and promises to deliver mystery, suspense, and elements of traditional witchcraft.

“We’re starting filming this October. Viewers should expect an exciting story, especially considering the strong support we’ve received,” Kado said.

The new project follows the success of his recent film “Revenge of the Ghost”, which was released earlier this year. Known for his compelling storytelling and horror-themed productions, Kado continues to cement his legacy in the Malawian film industry.

The director further disclosed that nearly twenty seasoned actors will be featured in the film, and fans should brace for intense scenes involving supernatural elements.

Genuine Kado is no stranger to Malawian screens, having previously captivated audiences with movies such as “Magwiragwira”, “Anthu Usana”, and “Muzionetsetsa”, which earned him critical acclaim for originality and local relevance.
