Former Malawi national football team captain, Limbikani Mzava, has joined Penang FC in the Malaysian Super League on a one-year contract.

Mzava was previously with Magesi FC, a South African top-flight side, but parted ways with the club in January this year following the expiration of his contract.

The veteran defender, known for his leadership and solid performances at the back, brings a wealth of experience to the Malaysian club, having featured for several clubs across Africa over the years.

Before his international career took off, Mzava also played locally for ESCOM United, a team that was later disbanded.

Mzava captained the Flames for several years and remains one of the most respected Malawian defenders to play abroad.
