Man Kills Wife in Zambia, Flees to Tanzania

A 25-year-old woman, Jessica Nakamba, has been murdered by her husband, Ezekiel Lingiwe Peti, a 43-year-old Tanzanian national, in Chiyanga village, Nakonde in Zambia.
The incident occurred on Saturday July 26, 2025, at around 20:00 hours.
According to reports, Silvia Namwinga, the victim’s aunt, received information from the village headman, Mathews Sikapizye, that her niece had been badly beaten by her husband and had fled the scene.
Upon receiving the information, Silvia Namwinga quickly went to the scene and found her niece lying dead in a pool of blood by the door entrance.
The matter was reported to the Nakonde Police Station on July 27, 2025, at 07:30 hours.
Acting on the report, police officers visited the scene and found the deceased lying down by the entrance door with a deep cut on the back of the head and bruises on both ribs.
The body was later taken to Nakonde Urban Clinic mortuary awaiting postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner, Dennis Moola, has confirmed the news.
The police have opened a docket of the case and instituted investigations, informing their Tanzanian counterparts to help apprehend the suspect, who is believed to have fled to Tanzania.
The police are appealing to members of the public for any information on the whereabouts of the suspect to bring him to book.
