Principal Resident Magistrate Benjamin Chulu will deliver his ruling tomorrow on whether to grant bail to three suspects accused of robbery.
Felix Mageleta, Adam Tsoka, and Aubrey Banda are charged with robbing property belonging to the late Sugzo Kumwenda and Brian Thondoya, both residents of Area 25.
The three pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Kumwenda was allegedly robbed of K100,000 and a Pixel phone, while Thondoya was robbed of Samsung and Itel phones worth K450,000.
The suspects have applied for bail, citing concern for their families and the need to care for their children.
However, state prosecutor Dalireni Kalanguluka opposed the application, arguing that the suspects are also facing murder charges related to the deaths of five people in Area 25.
He said releasing them could pose a risk to their safety and compromise investigations.
Magistrate Chulu is expected to announce his decision at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
