Three Arrested in Mulanje for Illegal Possession of Petrol

Police in Mulanje have arrested three men for allegedly being in possession of petrol without the required documentation.
Mulanje Police Deputy public relations officer, Hawa Juma, identified the suspects as Petrol Manuel, 21, and Chikondi Antonia, 20, both from Mozambique, and Humphrey Koloko, 21, a Malawian national.
According to Juma, the suspects were apprehended in Zumbira Village, under Traditional Authority Njema, as they attempted to smuggle the fuel into Mozambique.
Police seized 170 litres of petrol during the operation.
Juma has since warned the public against engaging in such illegal activities, stressing that anyone caught will face the full force of the law.
