Three Arrested in Ntchisi for Robbery While Impersonating Police

Police in Ntchisi have arrested three people on suspicion of robbing individuals while pretending to be officers from the police investigation department.
Ntchisi Police spokesperson Salomy Zgambo said the suspects — identified as Mayembe Mwaza (27), Andrew Chigwe (28), and Serious Duction (28) — were arrested yesterday after allegedly robbing two victims of their cellphones and fuel drums.
The suspects reportedly ambushed the victims on a dirt road leading to the Nthondo Chief’s area in the district.
According to Zgambo, police were alerted to the incident, raided the area, and apprehended the suspects.
The victims have been identified as Precious Yemumiya and Khalidwe Steven.
The suspects will appear before court soon.
