Zambian music sensation Yo Maps has confirmed that he will be in Malawi to perform at a free youth concert scheduled for Saturday, 24 August, at Zingwangwa Youth Centre in Blantyre.
The event has been organized to celebrate talent and to show solidarity with musician and Zingwangwa parliamentarian Penjani “Fredokiss” Kaluwa, demonstrating that young people are united behind him as both an artist and a youth leader.
Amid speculation that the announcement might just be a publicity stunt, Yo Maps took to his official social media page to assure Malawian fans of his appearance.
“Due to overwhelming demand, I will be performing live in Blantyre, Malawi,” he wrote.
Speaking on the sidelines, Fredokiss clarified that the event is not a political rally but a platform to uplift and empower fellow youths regardless of political affiliation.
“This is the time for young people to lift each other if we want real change in this country,” said Fredokiss.
More names of local youthful talents expected to perform at the show will be announced between today and tomorrow.
