The company keeping the body of former Zambian President Edgar Lungu has warned that continued storage poses a risk of spoilage.
Lungu’s body is currently being kept by Two Mountains Burial Services in South Africa.
The company has written to both the Zambian government and Lungu’s family, urging them to resolve their ongoing dispute.
According to the company, prolonged storage without a resolution could compromise the condition of the body.
Lungu passed away on June 5, 2025, but his family wishes for him to be buried in South Africa.
The matter is currently before the courts as the family and government remain at odds over the burial location.
