Three Arrested in Mulanje for Illegal Transport of 1,800 Liters of Petrol

Mulanje police have apprehended three men, aged 22 to 33, in connection with the illegal transportation of 1,800 liters of petrol without a permit.
The suspects, identified as Manuel Saulo, 22, Evance Chapweteka, 33, from Mulanje, and Laudon Wiki, 24, from Phalombe, were arrested on August 22 at Likwethu Village.
According to Mulanje Police spokesperson Innocent Moses, investigations revealed that the fuel was secretly purchased at Meru Filling Station in Phalombe under suspicious circumstances. The suspects allegedly attempted to evade a checkpoint by using a back road.
Police are currently hunting for other individuals involved in the illicit activity, warning that anyone found engaging in illegal fuel transportation will face legal consequences.
