Newborn Baby Rescued After Being Dumped in Toilet in Mzuzu

An unidentified woman has reportedly dumped a newborn baby in a toilet in Mchengautuba, Mzuzu.
Mzuzu Deputy Police Spokesperson Cecilia Mfune said well-wishers alerted the police after hearing the baby’s cries coming from the toilet.
Police rushed to the scene and successfully rescued the baby, who is currently receiving medical treatment at Mzuzu Central Hospital.
Mfune added that police have launched a manhunt to locate the mother of the child.
