Goalkeeper Elias Missi has officially joined Blue Eagles Football Club amid a suspension from Ekhaya FC, the clubs announced today.

Missi, who played 14 games and kept 7 clean sheets while conceding only 9 goals, will replace Joshua Waka at Blue Eagles. The club praised his shot-stopping ability and leadership, emphasizing their commitment to building a competitive squad.

Ekhaya FC confirmed Missi’s departure, expressing gratitude for his contributions and wishing him well in his future endeavors.

The transfer comes just weeks after the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) Disciplinary Committee suspended Missi for three league matches and fined Ekhaya K3 million. The suspension followed an incident on 3 July 2025, where Missi was found guilty of violent misconduct, strangling Nyasa Big Bullets striker Babatunde Adepoju during a match at Kamuzu Stadium.

SULOM stated that his actions brought disorder to the game and damaged the image of the league and its sponsors, including TNM plc.
