Malawian Fashion Sensation Ranks 45 Unveils ‘Political Suit’ Ahead of Elections

Malawian fashion designer and stylist Anderk Thyolera, popularly known as Ranks 45, has unveiled a rare green long jacket, which he has tagged the “Ranks 45 Political Suit.”

According to Ranks, the design goes beyond fashion to carry a powerful political message.

“This suit is more than fashion it is a voice,” he explained. “The green represents hope, brighter days, and the lush pastures that politicians so often promise during campaigns. The long jacket, with hands hidden inside, tells the story of what often follows elections: leaders who no longer reveal their work to the people, and promises that remain unseen.”

Through this creation, Ranks 45 Designs aims to spark reflection as Malawi approaches elections. He says the suit is a reminder that citizens must not only listen to words, but also look for action. “Let this design challenge us to think deeper, to demand better, and above all, to vote wisely,” he added.

The name Ranks 45 is no stranger in Malawi’s fashion and entertainment industry, having styled and dressed a number of big-name artists in the country.
