The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has denied reports that it has conceded defeat in the elections held last Tuesday.

The party said a letter circulating on various social media platforms, claiming that it has conceded defeat, is false.

According to MCP, the letter being widely shared online is fake and misleading, especially given that the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has not yet declared a winner in the election.
