Former FAM President Walter Nyamilandu Congratulates Mutharika on Election Victory

Former Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president, Walter Nyamilandu Manda, has congratulated Professor Peter Mutharika following his election as President of the Republic of Malawi.

Mutharika defeated outgoing president Lazarus Chakwera of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in last week’s general elections.

Nyamilandu’s remarks come just hours after Chakwera himself publicly conceded defeat and congratulated Mutharika for reclaiming the presidency.

Meanwhile, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is expected to officially confirm Mutharika’s victory this evening during a ceremony at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe
