In Nigeria, family and friends are mourning the tragic death of a young Nigerian woman, Mirian Chinonso Sunday, who passed away just two days before her traditional wedding.

The heartbreaking incident occurred on Friday, October 3, in Umuahia, Abia State, where preparations were in full swing for her marriage ceremony.

Mirian was set to wed her fiancé, Ugochukwu Princewill, popularly known as Donish Gold, on Sunday, October 5, in what was meant to be a joyful celebration of love.

Just a day before her passing, Princewill had shared their pre-wedding photos on social media, expressing his love and excitement, writing, “Sunday we party. 5th October.

Thank you so much for choosing me, my baby girl… love is a beautiful thing.”

Tragically, while on her way to the market, Mirian reportedly began experiencing severe chest pain and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia for emergency care.

Doctors diagnosed internal bleeding and quickly performed surgery in an attempt to save her life.

Despite their efforts, Mirian could not be revived, and she passed away shortly after the procedure.

The news of her death has sent shockwaves across her community and social media, with many expressing disbelief and sorrow.

Christian Ojike Agbaeze, a friend of the groom, lamented the devastating loss, saying, “A day made for celebration has turned to condolences… We were meant to pay your bride price on Friday and party on Sunday.”

Another close friend described Mirian as vibrant, healthy, and filled with joy in the days leading up to the wedding, making her sudden death all the more painful.

Her passing has also reignited conversations about the Nigerian healthcare system, with grieving friends questioning whether more could have been done to save her.
