9-Year-Old Boy Dies After Bee Sting in Mzuzu

A 9-year-old boy, Elia Nkunika, has died after being stung by a bee at Gesha, Mzuzu.
According to Mzuzu Police spokesperson Augustus Nkhwazi, Elia and his friends were playing in a garden near their home when a swarm of bees attacked them. The children fled to a nearby river in an attempt to escape the swarm.
Elia was rushed to Mzuzu Central Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Hospital officials confirmed that the boy died as a result of complications from the bee sting.
