29-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Dumping Newborn Baby in Toilet in Lilongwe

Police in Lilongwe have arrested 29-year-old Victoria Mphande for allegedly dumping her three-day-old baby in a toilet.
The incident occurred yesterday in Senti, within Lilongwe City.
According to Maria Kumwenda, spokesperson for Lingadzi Police, Mphande had just been discharged from the hospital when she took the baby and disposed of her in a toilet at Senti in Area 18.
The baby was rescued and is currently receiving treatment at Area 18 Hospital.
