Unidentified Man Found Drowned Near Baobab Beach in Senga Bay

Authorities in Salima have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s body in Lake Malawi near Baobab Beach Resort in Senga Bay on Thursday morning.
Salima Police spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate confirmed the incident, stating the deceased is currently unidentified but is estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old. The man had a brown complexion, short hair, brush-style facial hair, and a medium build. At the time he was found, he was only wearing a checked boxer short.
The body was located approximately five metres from the shore, partially submerged in shallow water.
Ndiwate noted that no identification documents were found on the man, and efforts are underway to establish his identity and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
The body has since been moved to the Salima District Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem and possible identification by relatives or members of the public.
Police are urging anyone with information that may assist in identifying the deceased to come forward.
