In a sudden political twist, UTM founding member Newton Kambala has resigned from his position as advisor to party leader Dalitso Kabambe.

Speaking to Zodiak Broadcasting Station, Kambala confirmed the move, saying the special advisory committee Kabambe formed ahead of the September 16 elections failed to deliver on its mandate.

“The committee did not function effectively during the campaign period,” Kambala said, citing frustration with the group’s lack of impact.

Despite stepping down from the advisory role, Kambala emphasized that he remains a loyal member of the UTM Party.

Political observers say the development could signal internal friction within the party as it regroups after the elections.
