Neno Police Arrest Man for Illegal Possession of Firearm

A 35-year-old man, Blessings Lesiyo, has been arrested in Neno on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a permit.
According to Neno Police spokesperson Sergeant Rabecca Msoliza, officers received a tip-off that the suspect was in possession of the firearm.
Following a search, police arrested the man on Wednesday and recovered the weapon, which had been hidden near the Shire River.
Sergeant Msoliza said the suspect, who comes from Kavala Village in the Nsamala area of Balaka District, will appear in court soon to answer charges related to illegal possession of a firearm.
