12 Year-old Girl Murd3red After Being Def!led By Unknown People in Zambia

A 12-year old girl of Gandaila village in Chief Magodi’s area of Chasefu district in Zambia has been murdered after being allegedly defiled by unknown people.
The deceased identified as Brenda Moyo was found dead on Thursday October 23, 2025, at around 12: 00hrs in a bush between Gandaila Village and Kamwa Primary School.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba says the girl who was in Grade 2 at Kamwa Primary School went to school in the company of her two sisters on Wednesday October 22, 2025, but never returned home.
Mr. Mweemba says at around 12:00 hours, her two sisters went back home without her and that her parents never bothered to find out why the deceased never came back home thinking that she had gone to her grandmother’s place located on the other side of the village.
He adds that yesterday Thursday, October 23, 2025, at around 12:00 hours, when the deceased parents heard that there was a girl who was found dead in the bush, they discovered that it was their daughter.
Mr. Mweemba says Police officers visited the scene after a report was filed by the area Councilor.
The Police Commanding Officer further adds that upon inspecting the body it was half naked and sustained bruises on the face and both hands and legs, blood stains on her private part and a black rope, was noticed around her neck with strangulation marks around her neck.
He says signs of struggle were also observed on the Crime Scene and that the deceased had no underwear.
Mr. Mweemba says after analysing the scene, it was concluded that the deceased might have been defiled and later murdered.
He states that the body has been deposited in the Chasefu Health Facility mortuary awaiting postmortem examination results to ascertain the cause of the death and that no arrest has been made so far as investigations are ongoing.
