Blantyre City Council to Elect New Mayor and Deputy Mayor Today

Blantyre City Council is expected to elect a new city mayor today, as councillors vote for both the mayor and deputy mayor positions.

All three DPP councillors are contesting for the mayoral seat: Isaac Jomo Osman of Bangwe Ntopwa Ward, Joseph Makwinja of Bangwe Namiyango Ward, and Eric Mofolo of Mapanga Mzedi Ward.

For the deputy mayor position, six councillors are in the race.
