Man Electrocuted While Stealing ESCOM Equipment Dies in Hospital

A 27-year-old man who was electrocuted while attempting to steal Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) power equipment in Blantyre has died.
Blantyre Deputy Police Spokesperson Doris Mwitha said the man, Madalitso Samson, suffered serious injuries and died while receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
Mwitha has advised the public to stop stealing power equipment, noting that the chances of survival after electrocution are very slim.
