Some residents of Chigumula Township in Blantyre were left overwhelmed with anger and grief on Wednesday after attempting to attack six suspects believed to be involved in the murder of Dr. Victoria Bobe.
The visibly emotional and furious residents confronted police officers who had escorted the suspects to Dr. Bobe’s residence, where the murder took place, saying they were still struggling to come to terms with the brutal killing of the lecturer.
Police were forced to intervene and compel some residents to retreat back into their homes in order to restore calm and prevent mob justice.
