Court Sets January 28 for Start of Mutale Mwanza Trial

The Lusaka Magistrate’s Court has set January 28, 2026, as the commencement date for the trial of media personality Mutale Mwanza.
Mwanza, 38, who is currently on police bond, is facing a charge of harassment through electronic communication, contrary to Section 69 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.
She appeared before Magistrate Mbuywana Sinvula on Monday, where she pleaded not guilty to allegations that she harassed fellow media personality Daisy Mwansa Lufumpa, popularly known as Chichi Daisy.
The State alleges that on November 7, 2024, Mwanza used her Facebook page, M-Nation, to publish posts containing unprintable language and accusations that Ms Lufumpa was involved in inappropriate conduct with a named politician.
The court has since adjourned the matter to January 28, 2026, for the start of trial.
