Woman Dies After House Wall Collapses in Chilobwe

A 25-year-old woman has died at Chilobwe Township in Blantyre after a house wall collapsed following heavy rains on Monday night.

Soche Police Station spokesperson Aaron Chilala said the woman, identified as Fanny Chimkango, was sleeping with her seven-year-old child when the wall fell at around 10:00 p.m.

Chilala said both were rushed to Zingwangwa Health Centre, where Chimkango was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The child sustained minor injuries and was treated as an outpatient at the same facility.
