High Court to Hear Chimwendo Banda Bail Application Today

The High Court is today expected to hear a bail application for Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda.

His legal team is seeking his temporary release as the case continues.

The hearing will proceed depending on the readiness of government lawyers to respond to the application.

Chimwendo Banda’s lawyers are expected to demonstrate that their client meets all the legal requirements for bail and is willing to comply with any conditions the court may impose.

Chimwendo Banda has been in police custody for several days.
