Social media influencer and political commentator Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza (GCK) has confirmed on Facebook that Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah’s scheduled trip to the United Kingdom this Friday is likely proceeding as planned.
GCK dismissed previous reports suggesting the trip’s cancellation as false, noting they appear to have originated from internal party disputes. Allegations regarding the size of the Vice President’s entourage, budget allocations, and accommodation arrangements were also deemed unfounded, seemingly aimed at tarnishing Dr. Ansah’s reputation amid ongoing internal power struggles.
According to GCK’s sources, discontent has grown among party members who contributed to the party’s electoral success in September but were overlooked for key positions in favor of external appointees across State House, the Vice President’s office, and various parastatals. The sources also cited challenges stemming from the perceived incompetence of some appointed officials, suggesting changes may occur soon.
Contrary to social media claims, the Vice President will be flying business class with Ethiopian Airlines, which does not offer a first-class option. She will be staying at her residence in Nottingham, a family home she has occupied since relocating from Malawi in 2020, not at a hotel in London.
GCK further highlighted that competition for the party’s 2030 presidential candidate is intensifying, and such internal disputes within the party are to be expected.
