Man Arrested in Nsanje for Attempting to Stab Boy with Albinism

Police in Nsanje District have arrested a 30-year-old man, Wise Madani, on suspicion of attempting to stab a 17-year-old boy whom he accused of stealing.

Nsanje Police Deputy Spokesperson Jabulani Ng’oma to said the incident occurred yesterday at Chabe Village in the Mlolo chieftaincy area of the district.

According to Ng’oma, police acted after receiving a report from South Eastern Police Commander Joyce Mazalo that the boy, a Grade 8 student with albinism, was in serious danger.

The suspect allegedly accused the boy of stealing a memory card and attempted to stab him.

Ng’oma said police officers rushed to the scene, rescued the boy and confiscated the knife that was being used in the attack.
