Man Arrested for Insulting Police on Facebook in Mwanza

Police in Mwanza district have arrested 38-year-old Steven Kadewere for insulting the police on a Facebook page.
Police spokesperson Hope Kasakula said Kadewere had been posting derogatory comments targeting police officers, particularly in Mwanza and Blantyre in Lirangwe.
Kasakula added that the suspect was arrested after he mentioned the name of a police officer who had stopped him for driving an unroadworthy vehicle.
Kadewere is expected to appear in court soon. Meanwhile, police have urged members of the public to report any abuse or offensive content they encounter online.
