ACB Arrests Two More in K36.7 Billion Greenbelt Authority Scam

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two more people suspected of embezzling K36.7 billion from the Greenbelt Authority’s irrigation department this week.
In a statement, ACB spokesperson Jacqueline Ngongonda said the two suspects are Dr. Chisomo Kumbuye, Director of Irrigation Operations at the Greenbelt Authority (GBA), and Stanley Bakolo, Managing Director of PLMB Engineering Investment.
Ngongonda said the number of people arrested in connection with the case has now risen to eight. The agency has also appealed to three other suspects who are still at large to surrender to authorities.
Earlier, the ACB arrested six other suspects: Linda Phiri, Masautso Kamowa, Synoden Kautsi, Kenneth Khonje, Victor Chabwera, and Ephrone Mwenitete.
