Umodzi Party Slams Government Over Rising Fuel and Electricity Prices

Umodzi Party leader Thomas Wezzi Kaumba has criticized the government for increasing fuel and electricity prices.

Speaking to journalists in Blantyre on Tuesday, Kaumba said it was regrettable that the fuel price hike had already started causing hardship for citizens, noting that minibus fares had also gone up.

He said the government had previously claimed it had the capacity to fix the country’s problems and should therefore provide solutions instead of allowing people to suffer.

Kaumba also called on Malawians to stop applauding leaders uncritically, stressing that it is important to speak out and criticize when things go wrong.
