Police Arrest 45-Year-Old Man Over Unlicensed Clinic and Medicines in Mangochi

Police in Mangochi have arrested Ruben Nyalugwe, 45, on charges of operating a clinic and storing medicines without a licence.
Mangochi Police spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi said Nyalugwe was arrested on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, after he was found in possession of a large quantity of medicines.
Daudi said police called in a medical officer from Mangochi District Hospital to help identify the drugs, some of which included penicillin and LA.
She said Nyalugwe has been charged with possession of medicines without a licence and operating a clinic without proper documentation, and is expected to appear in court soon.
Nyalugwe hails from Nikisi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilipa in Mangochi District.
